Mariana Castellanos

Director of Democracy and Citizen Participation

Mariana Castellanos Mottola is a consultant, professor, and researcher in the areas of governance, development, international relations, corruption, and social accountability. She holds an MA in Political Science with a concentration in Development Studies from McGill University, an MA in Applied Political Studies from Fundación Internacional y para Iberoaméricade Administración y Políticas Publicas (FIIAPP - Spain), and a BA in International relations with a concentration in International Organizations from Francisco Marroquin University (UFM – Guatemala).

 

Mariana is a career diplomat, with more than twenty years of experience in the public, private and academic sectors. She has been a professor in several universities, including Universidad del Valle de Guatemala and Universidad Rafael Landívar in the areas of political science and international relations.

 

Mariana lives in Guatemala City with her husband and two daughters.
